Poopada Resorts is within the town limits of Munnar and yet has managed to maintain an otherworldly atmosphere around it. It is just 200 metres from the KSRTC (Kerala State Road Transport Corporation) bus station and about 600 metres from the centre of the town. Numerous State and private bus services pass through Munnar or terminate there.
The nearest international airport is at Nedumbassery near Kochi (Cochin) which is 115 kms away along the national highway number 49. Kochi is at present the industrial and commercial capital of Kerala and one of the finest natural harbours. It had been `the Queen of the Arabian Sea` from very ancient times. Spices and forest produces of Kerala found its way to the European markets via the Cochin Port. Cherai Beach, Bolghatty, Vypeen, Gundu and Willington Islands, two well-packed museums, and Chinese Fishing Nets attract thousands of visitors. The Dutch Palace, the Santha Cruz Basilica, St. Francis Church, and the Jewish Synagogue all have more than five centuries of history behind them.
