Overview
How to get there:

By Airways:

The nearest airport is Shimla Airport.
By Railways:
The nearest railhead is Shimla, but you have to change to a gauge train from Kalka to reach Shimla.
By Roadways:
The little hamlet of Mashobra, at an altitude of 2150 meters, is situated 10 kms east of Shimla and is accessible by Road (NH-22).

The cedar covered slopes of Mashobra are a welcome getaway from the congested roads of Shimla town. Streams of cool water and temples make it a picture perfect destination. Even though it is being recognized only recently as a hill retreat it finds mention in Edward J. Bucks book Shimla past and present. It was here that the famous Shimla Agreement of 1972 was signed. Mashobra popularity grew by leaps and bounds among the jaded British high society, as India’s summer capital, thus resulting in blooming of several enchanting country homes and villas. Scattered in its lush forests are large estates belonging to some of India’s elite.

mashobra

Noted for its apple orchards and thick woods of oak and pine, Mashobra is a sylvan retreat with pretty walks and picnic spots. A little track leads down to Sipur a grassy glade with a stream wandering through it. Excursions are possible to Shali Peak- the highest point in the area or to Cragnano (3 km) with its elegant guest house set in a delightful flower-filled garden.
