Tourism here revolves around this artificial lake. Boating facilities are available here. Unlike Ooty or Kodaikanal Yelagiri has not lost its charm to commercialization and modernity. The high on pollution motor boats are not available, if you would like to boat there are paddle boats or row boats for the strong ones.

Swamimalai Hill
This perhaps will be your most hectic activity during your stay in Yelagiri. At 4,338 Ft, this is the highest point in Yelagiri. The climb may be taxing but its well worth it. You will be rewarded by the wild flowers in bloom and butterflies hovering over them.
Smaller peaks with quaint names like Javadu Hills, Palamathi Hills and others are an easier climb. Start early though and be back before 9 am, for once the sun climbs up it can get rather uncomfortable. If you care for birds, youll be surprised at the different species youll find flitting to and fro, their trill cries echoing across the woods.
