Bhimtal, situated at a distance of 22 kms from Nainital, is named after one of the Pandav brothers called Bhim. The largest lake in the district of Nainital, Bhim Tal is 1701 metres by 265 metres, 265 metres longer than Naini Lake. The lake known for its magnificent majesty is situated at an altitude of 1371.6 metres above sea level.

Kilburi is slightly away from Nainital. 12 kms from the main town, this place is peaceful and quite. Located amidst green forests this place provides a break from crowds of the city. Kilburi gives a very good view of the Himalayas.
Naukuchiatal
Situated at an altitude of 1,219 m, Naukuchiatal is picturesque lake. It has nine corners and hence the name. 26 km away from Nainital, it was here that Rabindranath Tagore completed his collection of poems, Gitanjali, which won him the Nobel Prize.
