Ranchi Lake
Situated in the heart of the city was excavated by Col. Onsely, a British Agent in 1842. It is located near Ranchi Telephone Exchange. The lake has boating facilities.

Tagore hill
Named after the famous Tagore family and located near Krishna Mission Ashram at Morabadi. It is said that Ravindra Nath Tagore wrote several of his books at the top of the hill which is at a height of around 300 ft. Besides the Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, the Centre of Divyayan and Agararian Vocational Institute is also situated at the foot of the hill. |  tagore hill.gif |
Johna falls
Jonha falls is about 40 kms away from Ranchi on the Purliya Highway. Also known as Gautam Dhara it is a popular picnic spot near the Kanchi River.
The scenery around it is very picturesque. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Gautam Buddha and a rest house here. Every Tuesday and Saturday a fair is organized in Johna. |  johna falls.gif |

Hunduru Falls
Ranchi is nature’s bounty to mother India which has specially been adorned with falls and streams.
Hundru falls is about 28 km. away from Ranchi town. The Swarnarekha River falls from a height of 320 feet making a wonderful scene known as Hundru falls. During rainy season it takes a formidable form but in summer it turns into an exciting picnic spot. |  falls.gif |
